The Veritymedia CMS is the ideal step to start the content creation process. Its intuitive editing interface makes it simple to use and content creation via a web based tool has been proven to improve workflow, furthermore it can empower the entity to maximise the ever increasing potential of the internet as a marketing channel or simply an information conduit. Veritymedia CMS provides the key to this by simplifying the publication process and where opportunity arises working with the client to fit their needs.

Structured and accessible content can then be copied back into a Word format and even be re-purposed automatically into a PDF document if required. This is made possible through the separation of content from presentation, the underlying core capability of most established and effective content management systems. This is also the basis for content syndication, typically RSS, which is also often described as the essential element of ‘Web 2.0’. This is the simple means for an item of content created in one website to be ‘pushed’ or ‘pulled’ into another website and thereby adopting the style of whatever webpage it is viewed in.

Veritymedia's CMS features a true 'in-context' WYSIWYG editor. Changing content in VeritymediaCMS is like typing directly into your web pages. The user sees exactly how the page will look as they are working.

Editor Toolbar

Although it is fully browser based, the Veritymedia CMS closely resembles a typical Microsoft Office® application. This ensures maximum ease of use and an extremely rich editing environment.

Adding new content

Creating new content and adding pages is quick and intuitive in Veritymedia CMS.

Drag and drop

Drag and drop Word® and Excel® documents directly into the Veritymedia CMS, have them converted to XML compliant content and reformatted dynamically to the established page style.

Page links

Users can add page links to content within the CMS at any point by using the link editor.

Image manipulation

Veritymedia CMS features powerful image manipulation tools including; automatic low-res and thumbnail creation, free transform and fixed constraint image resize, cropping, brightness & contrast and sharpen. Multiple image variations are displayed in the properties dialogue box enabling editors to find the original image source or choose pre-set sizes as part of visual identity standard.

Image library

Veritymedia CMS has an image library for managing images within a web site. You can browse image categories by thumbnail or search for them by file name, meta data, title or description. Usage reporting from the Manager enables you to see how and where images are being used and streamlines the process of removing or replacing images.

Menu navigation

Navigation menus are dynamically built according to the pages created within the Veritymedia editor. Pages can also be hidden from the menu to ensure usability standards are maintained.

Page preview

In addition to editing in a true WYSIWYG format, a preview option is provided that fully processes the page to give an exact representation of the page in its published state, in a new browser window.

Brand control and style guides

VeritymediaCMS understands the importance of branding and visual identity and has designed the CMS with powerful tools to enable brand managers and marketers to take control, and because our CMS separates content from presentation, branding or campaign changes can be made across a site in record time. Veritymedia's CMS can also be deployed in any number of ways to suit the organisations structure or approach, for instance, you could choose to enforce rigid brand adherence through to allowing individuals total design freedom.

Document creation and management

Should users wish to create documents in a traditional Office tool, such as Word, then Veritymedia provides some integration that enables documents to be saved straight from Word into the Veritymedia Web Asset Manager (WAM). Alternatively, a Word document can be added into the system via Windows Explorer or the Veritymedia WAM interface.

Once within the Web Asset Manager, Basic Content Services such as check in/out, version control, collaborative commenting and workflow can be applied for the duration of the document creation process.

Once approved, documents can be brought together with web content in Veritymedia driven websites in 3 key ways.

Link to an individual document in the WAM via the CMS link creation tool
A plug-in to display the documents in a specified folder or category
A plug-in that enables folders and their contents to be browsed and accessed via a Veritymedia web page.

Veritymedia has a wide range of plug-in modules that extend the functionality of the core software quickly and easily. These are developed with the ‘power user’ in mind such as content contributors, managers and administrators who have experience and a good understanding of IT systems but do not have the technical knowledge of a developer.

The Veritymedia API together with the .NET Framework opens a major area of extensibility allowing developers to customise the system to their needs and offers virtually unlimited application development flexibility.

These design-time objects may be harnessed to perform any sort of HTML, DHTML or server-side scripted action. They can be inserted into the Editor to provide additional functionality for the user, or they may be designed to run on the server, or a combination of both.
